I went to use my 1.4X the other day.  It's been stored attached to the body of
a lens.  I found that the aperture stop-down mechanism had become a bit
sticky, ie it did not move smoothly and would stick partway down.
'Excercising it'  a bit back and forth seemed to help, but I imagine this will
get worse before it gets better. 2 questions:

Is there  a simple fix I can do?  What to watch out for?

Any guess why this happened to what is probably my youngest piece of glass,
purchased new?  Did storing it on a lens contribute?  Seems to me this is same
as leaving a lens on a body.  Is this a no-no too?
