Mike,
I've had similar problems with my OM2S but what I found is that always
having
an extra set of 357 batteries and save the old batteries into the
plastic sleeve and
scotch tape it closed. My camera locks up, I take out the batteries and
switch them
to the other pair of batteries. The camera sometimes hesitates but then
comes on
and is good for a few days. I don't know why but this seems to work
