That's one helluva loooooong viewfinder!  :-)  I think you meant 2
centimenters ('bout an inch) instead of 2 meters ('bout 7 feet)...  right?

He did not mean actual distance. When he said optical distance he was talking about the distance of the virtual image of the screen from the eye.
