Some of the 'playing' (I'm tempted to say 'killing') fields still
exist at Chichen Itza in Yucatan, Mexico.  You can stand in the middle
of the Great Court - an eerie feeling.

I had a conversation with a gentleman from Meridia about the history
of the games and he insisted his ancestors did not play to the death. 
Scientists say otherwise.

Tulum, another Mayan site, is right on the ocean.  Great place to make
photographs with an Olympus camera and get right back on topic.  ;o)
