We're leaving in about an hour. I'm not taking the laptop, so I'll be out of
touch for 10 days or so. The laptop is staying home since I'm on a program of
an undetermined number of steps to simplify the days of my old age, which also
means I'm only taking the E-1, 7-14, 14-54, 50 macro, 50-200, and 500 Zuiko
CAT, 6GB's worth of SanDisk CF cards, and probably not even a tripod.
Photography is not a primary goal on this trip, although I am duty-bound to
take the Odyssey OM-1, and I will complete my responsibilities in that regard.
I realize I've been bogarting the camera, and, hell or high water, it'll be out
of my possession by May 30.
I've set vacation mode on CompuServe, which is limited to 250 e-mails in the
box, but ATT will still be catching stuff, up to the 25MB limit, which I don't
anticipate will be exceeded. I doubt I'll read all the 500 or so e-mails upon
my return, and if I can survive 10 days of listlessness without suffering
withdrawal pangs, I may even pull the plug or just drop down to digest mode.
Like I said, I'm simplifying, which means streamlining and using my time more
efficiently, because there's still lots of stuff I want to do before I'm too
old and senile to do it. I would never say this list is a waste of time, but
somehow it seems I manage to waste more and more time with it.
Gotta go now. The road beckons. And so does my good lady wife/navigator.
Later, y'all.
Walt, top down, and not looking in the rearview mirror 'cause I know where I've
been
